The stage is set, the band’s ready, but what are you wearing? That’s the biggest question this festival season. Now that we’re all back and seeing our favourite bands perform live again, you need to make sure that your festival wear is the freshest kit out there. That’s why we’re here, to give you a little cheat sheet for the party ahead.

Cowboycore

So, how do you look fresh, different and on-trend at the festival all at once? Cowboycore of course. The aesthetic that keeps on delivering every season. Why though? How has it maintained its longevity from season to season? Well, it’s in the simplicity of adaptability. With some glitter and accessories you can make it completely yours this festival season. It’s time to dust off those boots, bring out the flares and put on your hat - this trend is big enough for the both of us.

Co-ord sets

When in doubt, wear it twice - yes, that means top and bottom. More exciting than a dress, and easier to wrestle with in the portaloos than a jumpsuit, matching co-ord sets are an eye-catching festival statement. Want to know the best part? You’re basically buying three outfits, because you can mix and match it with other tops and bottoms. For a nostalgic 70s look, opt for bright colours and retro patterns, or you can make it more modern with a striking monochrome palette. Note to self: when it comes to festival wear, always go double or nothing.

Chainmail

Historically, chainmail was worn by knights and soldiers on ancient battlefields and to an extent it still is. Only this battlefield isn’t about life and death. It’s about moving to the beat, avoiding stray elbows and parking up in the prime spot of the mosh. Okay, there might be a few similarities. Regardless, the chainmail trend has its roots dating back to the 90s Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss Versace party dresses, along with Paris Hilton's 21st birthday party in 2002. So, you know you’re in legendary company when you embrace the chains. With a glimmering shine and seemingly endless ways to accessorise, expect chainmail to be a prominent feature this festival season.

Euphoria Face

Whether you’re playing it natural with a side of glitter, or going at full pelt with coloured gel liners, diamantes and rhinestones - there are no wrong answers when it comes to owning your festival beauty look. And now that festivals are back, it’s time to channel all that inspiration we took from watching a million lockdown episodes of Euphoria (glitter tears, anyone?). For festival makeup that achieves glam status, it’s all about playing off your outfit. Go for an bold eyeliner that accentuates the colour of your pants or capitalise on your metallic accessories with some fierce eye spikes. Just go for it! We all know that the best festival faces are worthy of a good time.

Workwear

Ok, picture this. It's Day 2 and the festival ground is totally chewed up from the night before. You don't want to risk muddying up your best and brightest threads, but you still wanna seem steezy. The answer is simple - workwear. Nineties workwear was making a comeback in the streetwear crowd long before it hit fashion week. It has mass appeal across gender fluidity, body positivity and functionality (you can never have too many pockets). Expect to see a multitude of coveralls, denim and canvas throughout the Aussie festival season. Style the look with a chunky boot and you’re golden.
