About Children's Place

The Children's Place is a renowned specialty retailer of children's apparel, catering to newborns to pre-teens. With a rich history dating back to 1969, the company was founded in Hartford, Connecticut by David Pulver and Clinton Clark. Originally starting out as a seller of toys, apparel, and accessories, The Children's Place soon recognized the tremendous potential in the apparel industry.

Under the leadership of President & CEO Jane Elfers, The Children's Place has experienced remarkable growth and transformation. Jane established four Strategic Growth Initiatives, including Superior Product, Business Transformation through Technology, Alternate Channels of Distribution, and Fleet Optimization. By executing these initiatives, the company has evolved into a global omni-channel kids' specialty retailer, extending its reach beyond North America.

To further expand their offerings, The Children's Place acquired the rights to the iconic Gymboree brand in 2019 and launched it in select stores and online in early 2020. This addition adds vibrant and playful designs to the company's portfolio, allowing families to celebrate childhood and dress their best for any occasion. In addition, The Children's Place introduced the Sugar & Jade brand in late 2021, featuring collections tailored to celebrate the individuality of tween girls. Furthermore, the PJ Place brand was launched in late 2022, providing a one-stop pajama destination for all ages, including adults. These four distinct brands collectively empower and support growing families by offering apparel that promotes inclusivity and boosts confidence.

With its commitment to innovation, exceptional products, and operational excellence, The Children's Place has solidified its position as a leader in the children's apparel industry. Whether through their private label merchandise or branded products, the company continues to provide big fashion at little prices, ensuring that children of all ages look stylish and feel comfortable.
