Check your email for an Afterpay refund confirmation. If you haven’t received one, the merchant hasn’t processed your refund or order cancellation yet.

Check with the merchant

After the merchant processes your refund, it may take 3–5 days to appear on your Afterpay order. We’ll then adjust your payments based on the refunded amount.

If you haven’t made a payment

It may take the merchant a few days to process an order cancellation. If your order hasn’t been adjusted or canceled after a few days, contact the merchant for an update.

If you’ve already made payments

It may take several days for the merchant to accept your return and process a refund, especially for items returned by mail. Your original Afterpay payment schedule will continue until the merchant processes the refund.

Waiting for a refund?

For a Pay in 4 order, you can move your next payment date to give the merchant more time to process your refund. Read Can I push back my next payment while waiting for a refund? for more information.

For a Pay Monthly order, we can’t change the due date because it is fixed for the life of the loan.
