Can You Assist With The Integration Or Troubleshooting of Afterpay With Shopify?

Once you’ve completed the step by step guide on setting up the Afterpay app in your Shopify store, there are several steps you can take to test that the integration is successfully working. steps. 

Check Shopify Admin - Payments Settings

Step 1: In your Shopify store admin, navigate to Settings > Payments.

Step 2: Under the "Alternative Payment Methods" section, check if Afterpay (Afterpay) is listed as an active payment method.

If Afterpay is properly installed, you should see it there, along with any other enabled payment methods. 

Validate Correct Afterpay Merchant Account Selected

Step 1: Ensure that the correct Afterpay merchant account has been chosen when installing Afterpay in the Shopify payment settings.

If the incorrect Afterpay merchant account was chosen, the integration will not work. 

Test the Checkout Process

Step 1: Go through your normal purchase flow by adding a product to the cart.

Step 2: When you reach the checkout page, check if Afterpay is listed as a payment option along with the usual credit/debit card options.

If Afterpay is not appearing at checkout, verify that the Afterpay app is enabled and properly linked to your payment gateways. Additionally, check if there are any restrictions based on the product price or cart size. 

Review the Afterpay Merchant Dashboard

Step 1: Log into the Business Hub with your Merchant User account and look for any pending or successful transactions. 

If Afterpay is working correctly, you should see orders placed through your Shopify store reflected here.

If there are no orders, it may indicate that the integration has not been fully completed. 

Cross-Verify Your Transaction Data

Follow the steps here to verify the transaction data matches between Shopify and Afterpay. 

Look for App Error Messages in Shopify

Step 1: In your Shopify admin, go to Apps and click on Afterpay to open the app settings. The Afterpay app may provide error messages or prompts if something isn't configured correctly. 

If your Afterpay integration is installed correctly, you will not see any warnings or issues.

If there are any issues noted, follow the provided instructions to resolve any issues, which could involve re-entering your Afterpay credentials or reviewing specific settings.

Important Notes:

Do not enable test mode, as this will cause your Afterpay integration to fail. The enable test mode function is for  dedicated testing only.
