Help

How can we help?

Why have I been charged a late fee?

A late fee is charged when a scheduled payment isn't made by its due date. The amount and cap depend on which Afterpay product you're using.

Pay in 4 late fees

Pay in 4 is interest-free. Late fees are the only charge that can apply.

  • $10 is charged the day after a payment is due

  • $7 is charged if the payment is still overdue 7 days later

  • Capped at the lower of 25% of the original order value or $68 per order

Once the cap is reached on an order, no more late fees will be charged on that order.

You can check which payment was missed, and pay the fee, by logging into your Afterpay app or web account, or by using the link in the notification we sent you.

To avoid late fees in the future, you may be able to reschedule an upcoming Pay in 4 payment in the Afterpay app.

Pay Monthly late fees

If a Pay Monthly payment is overdue:

  • $17 when a payment is missed

  • $12 more if the payment remains unpaid 7 days later

  • Capped at the lower of 15% of the original order value or $250 per order

If a single fee would take you over the cap, we'll apply a smaller partial fee that brings you exactly to the cap.

Late fees on Pay Monthly do not accrue interest. Late fees and interest are separate charges.

Pay Monthly payment dates cannot be rescheduled. If you're worried about an upcoming payment, see Missed payments and late fees for what you can do.
