Afterpay Mystery Market Promotion terms and conditions
1,020 prizes to be won on a first-come, first-serve basis! Simply show up to our Afterpay Mystery Market at Pitt Street Mall in the Sydney CBD, NSW (along the concourse) on 15/08/24 between 9:30am and 3:00pm (AEST) or before all the prizes are won, and present your digital Afterpay card in your digital wallet to enter our Mystery Market. Once you're inside, pick one box to win a prize!
You must be signed up to Afterpay and have the digital Afterpay card in your digital wallet to enter the Afterpay Mystery Market (instructions on how to do this are under clause 1 below).
Our Afterpay Mystery Market Promotion is subject to the terms and conditions below, so read them carefully.
In these terms and conditions:
Australian Consumer Law: means Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
Employee: means the employees, contractors and sub-contractors of the Promoter.
Prize: means any one of the prizes described under clause 7.
Promoter: is Afterpay Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 15 169 342 947) at Level 8, 376-390 Collins St, Melbourne VIC 3000 Australia.
Promotion: means the game of chance described in this Afterpay Mystery Market Promotion terms and conditions.
Promotion Period: means the period that this Promotion is run, starting at 9:30am on 15/08/2024 (AEST) and ending the earlier of either 3:00pm on 15/08/2024 (AEST) or when all Prizes have been claimed.
You / your: means a person eligible to enter this Promotion, being an Australian resident 18 years and older who;
a. is not an Employee or immediate family member of an Employee; and
b. has met all of the entry requirements under clause 1.
How to enter
1. To enter this Promotion, you must:
- be signed up to Afterpay and have the digital Afterpay card added to your digital wallet. Instructions on how to do this are found at www.afterpay.com/en-AU/afterpay-card and https://help.afterpay.com/hc/en-au/articles/13032951933081-Setting-up-the-Afterpay-Card;
- attend the Afterpay Mystery Market in person, located along the concourse at Pitt Street Mall in the Sydney CBD, NSW in the Promotion Period;
- present your digital Afterpay card in your digital wallet; and
- select one box inside the Afterpay Mystery Market to win a Prize.
2. You agree to these terms and conditions by entering into the Promotion. If there is any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and other published materials, these terms and conditions prevail.
3. You may only enter once, and you will only be awarded one Prize. All entries become the property of the Promoter for use by the Promoter without attribution or compensation.
4. Entry into this Promotion is free.
How to win a Prize
5. Once you have entered the Mystery Market, you are permitted to select one box. You will win the Prize contained in your selected box where you have not been disqualified under these terms and conditions, including clause 9.
6. You will claim the Prize contained in your selected box instantaneously. You are not permitted to select another box after your box has been opened.
What you might win
7. The total prize pool for this Promotion is valued at AUD $123,245 (including GST) as at 25/07/24. The prizes on offer are:
8. Prizes are subject to any terms and conditions which may be notified to you when you receive a Prize. No bonus prizes will be awarded. No Prize is transferable or redeemable for cash, or can be exchanged for a different Prize.
When will you be disqualified?
9. You will be disqualified or prohibited from entering the Promotion if the Promoter reasonably suspects, or has actual knowledge that you have:
- committed fraud or misled the Promoter in any way;
- provided incorrect information or fail to provide any information requested by the Promoter (including where the Promoter asks for identification to confirm your identity and eligibility to enter);
- acted in a way that may damage the Promoter’s reputation; or
- breached these Promotion terms and conditions or the law.
10. If you are disqualified you must return any Prize you have received in this Promotion to the Promoter, at your cost.
Additional terms and conditions
11. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for your late, lost or misdirected entry into this Promotion.
12. If any Prize or part of a Prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside of the Promoter’s control, the Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
13. The Promoter’s decision on any aspect of this Promotion is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
14. These terms and conditions do not limit, modify or exclude your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. The Promoter may amend any of these terms and conditions to comply with applicable laws.
15. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for errors (technical or human), technical failures or malfunctions, any injury, sickness, death, or property loss or damage of any kind except where caused by the Promoter’s fraud, negligence or wilful misconduct.
16. If the Promotion cannot be run as planned for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter may, subject to licensing authority approval, alter, cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion. The Promoter will use reasonable efforts to notify you of these changes by publishing a notice on its website.

Marketing and privacy
18. You consent to your "Personal Information" (as defined by the Privacy Act 1988 Cth) being used for entry into this Promotion and marketing purposes by the Promoter. The Promoter may use, reproduce or modify the entry in any way without any further reference, payment or compensation to you.
19. Personal Information collected will be used in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy (https://www.afterpay.com.au/privacy/). The Promoter may disclose your Personal Information to other organisations (including third parties) for the purposes of conducting the Promotion, promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling.
