Afterpay - Invite a Friend

These terms and conditions govern your participation in Afterpay’s Invite a Friend referral program (“Program”). These terms and conditions apply together with Afterpay's Pay in 4 Terms and Afterpay’s Privacy Policy.

• When you refer a new customer ("Referred Customer") to Afterpay and the Referred Customer makes their first Afterpay Pay in 4 purchase of $50 or more, you will receive $30 off your next Afterpay Pay in 4 purchase of $50 or more. This will be automatically applied at checkout.
• To be eligible, a Referred Customer must be someone personally known to you, who has agreed to receive communications from Afterpay about its services and has not had an active Afterpay account within the past 12 months.
• Afterpay reserves the right to exclude any individual from being eligible as a Referred Customer if they have previously held an Afterpay account which was not in good standing, as determined in Afterpay’s sole discretion.
• All Referred Customers will be required to undergo Afterpay’s standard Pay in 4 application process, including a credit check, as part of the application process. 
• Once the Referred Customer’s application has been accepted by Afterpay, they will receive $30 off their first Afterpay Pay in 4 purchase of $50 or more. This will automatically be applied at checkout.
• Purchases made using the promotional discount are subject to product and merchant exclusions (including, by way of example, purchases from Amazon). 
• If the Referred Customer is or becomes eligible for another promotional discount in connection with their first Afterpay Pay in 4 purchase, only the higher of the applicable discounts will be applied to the Referred Customer’s first Pay in 4 purchase, and the other promotional discount(s) will be deemed void.
• The promotional discount will expire after 90 days of being issued to you or expire after 28 days of being issued to your Referred Customer and are one time use only.
• Both you and the Referred Customer will be eligible for the promotional discount if the Referred Customer signs up to use the Afterpay Pay in 4 service directly by applying with your unique Invite code which can only be generated within the Afterpay app.
• Any promotional discount from this Program will be applied to the total original purchase value, inclusive of all applicable tax and shipping costs, as displayed in the check-out by the retailer.
• If any products have been purchased using this promotional discount and are returned, the maximum amount you or the Referred Customer (as applicable) will be entitled to is the amount paid for the product.
• Any promotional discount amount is not transferable, redeemable for cash or any other credit, and may not be resold or applied to any previously placed orders.
• You may refer up to 50 unique Referred Customers throughout the duration of the Program for a maximum promotional discount total of $1500, provided that such referrals are made only to your direct friends, acquaintances or family. You are not permitted to publish any unique Program code that you generate within the Afterpay app in any public forum, whether online or otherwise, which could reasonably be seen by any person who is not your direct friend, acquaintance or family. Any referrals must also comply with these Program terms and Referred Customers must be eligible for the Program at all times.
• Promotional discounts are not cumulative and each instance of a promotional discount may only be used once towards an individual purchase. For the avoidance of doubt, multiple promotional discounts may not be used together towards a single purchase.
• You agree not to engage in any activity that may be considered fraudulent or breaches any law. You also agree not to engage in conduct that is intended to undermine the fair and intended operation of this Program, including but not limited to sharing your unique code on public websites and online forums. 
• This Program is only open to Australian residents.
• Promotional discount will not apply to any cross border transactions using the Afterpay service.
• The promotional discount does not apply to purchases made with Afterpay as a saved payment method. This includes ongoing subscriptions and recurring payments.
• Afterpay reserves the right to terminate or vary the terms of this Program at any time. Where the variation is material and/or to your detriment, we will provide at least 30 calendar days' prior notice of the variation.
• If you or the Referred Customer breaches any of these Program terms or Afterpay’s Terms, we reserve the right to withhold, cancel, or suspend any promotional discount under this Program.
• For the avoidance of doubt, any reference to ‘$’ or ‘dollars’ refers to Australian dollars.
