In Australia, Afterpay Card transactions are processed via Mastercard. In New Zealand, they’re processed via Visa. That means Afterpay sales appear in your terminal or daily settlement reports as Mastercard or Visa payments – not labelled as “Afterpay.”
You’ll receive the full purchase amount (less any terminal processing fees) at the time of sale through your payment provider. Afterpay then deducts the merchant fee via direct debit from your nominated bank account within 3 business days.
You can log in to the Afterpay Business Hub to keep track of Afterpay transactions and payments at any time.

First, you’ll need to have the right permissions in the Afterpay Business Hub to manage bank details.
If you’re not sure, we recommend watching the short video called Get set up with the Afterpay Business Hub. It shows you how to update bank details and explains how user access is managed.
If you do have the right access, here’s how to make the change:
Don’t have access to the Bank Account details section?
Reach out to an Admin user for the Afterpay Business Hub within your organisation. They can update the details for you or change your access type.
Please contact the Afterpay representative who handled your onboarding. They’ll confirm the next steps to get your new location set up. If you’re not sure who that is, reach out to your Head Office for support.
Please reach out to your Head Office to get the contact details of your Afterpay representative. They’ll help make sure the right people are listed and that you can access the support you need.
No. Afterpay Card can only be used in person. For security reasons, over-the-phone payments are not supported or recommended for any card, including Afterpay.
Afterpay Card is a digital card that needs to be physically tapped on a card terminal at your business location to process the payment.
If your customer can’t visit in person but still wants to pay using Afterpay, the best option is to direct them to your online store (if available). There, they can check out using Afterpay as usual.
The easiest way to get set up is to reach out to your Afterpay contact — they’ll guide you through what’s needed to add Afterpay for online or in-person payments, depending on what you're already using.
You can also manage this yourself via the Afterpay Business Hub.
Once logged in, head to the Setup Guide and look for the option to add Afterpay to your business for the channel you’d like to enable.
If you’re not sure who your contact is, or you don’t see the setup options in the Business Hub, our Business Support team can help:

New Zealand: 0800 472 317 (Mon–Fri, 11am–7pm NZST)
The best way to stay up to date is to download the Afterpay Trade Calendar and keep in touch with your Afterpay contact.
We’ll always email your franchise Head Office with important dates – including save-the-dates, when offer submissions open, and key shopper insights to help you shape a compelling promotion.
Here’s how it works for any trade events:
1. We’ll keep your Head Office up to date with upcoming trade events and how to get involved.
2. To help inform the campaign strategy, we'll provide exclusive data and insights.
3. Your Head Office tells us about your promotion and we’ll promote it on the Afterpay Shop Directory.
4. We’ll provide customisable assets, such as social media and banner templates, to help you promote your offer across your marketing channels. They can be found here, or on our trade page.
Trade events are a powerful way to connect with new customers and drive more sales, especially if you’re using your own marketing channels to promote your offer.
If your business location is set up to accept Afterpay Card payments, your customers can still use Afterpay – even if you're not listed on the Shop Directory.
To be added to the Shop Directory, reach out to your franchise Head Office. Let them know your location isn’t appearing, and ask them to add it.
