How can we help?

Am I eligible for Pay Monthly?

To be eligible to apply for Pay Monthly, you need to:

  • Be an Australian resident aged 18 or over

  • Have a regular income

  • Have an active Afterpay account (Pay in 4) in good standing

  • Have an Australian-issued debit card for Pay Monthly payments. Credit cards aren’t accepted for Pay Monthly.

You don’t need to have the debit card linked before you apply.  If you’re applying through Apple checkout for an eligible Apple purchase, you can add one during checkout. If you apply in the Afterpay app, you can add one after you proceed through the Pay Monthly application.

We’ll assess your income, expenses, and financial commitments, and carry out a credit check through Experian. Afterpay performs credit checks to help fulfil our regulatory obligations in Australia.

Spend limits

Pay Monthly spend limits range from $1,000 to $20,000 subject to eligibility and assessment. It’s decided separately from Pay in 4. Having a Pay in 4 account doesn’t guarantee approval for Pay Monthly.

If you apply at Apple checkout, your minimum selectable limit takes your eligible Apple purchase into account. If you apply in the Afterpay app, the minimum selectable limit is $1,000 The maximum you can be approved for is $20,000 subject to eligibility and assessment.

Your Pay in 4 and Pay Monthly spend limits are separate from one another and a purchase reduces your available to spend for the product you use E.g, if you spend using Pay Monthly, only your available to spend for Pay Monthly will be affected..
