How can we help?

How do Afterpay automatic payments work?

Afterpay automatically debits each payment from your preferred card on its due date. We’ll send you a reminder before each instalment is due. Make sure your account has enough money to cover the payment.

Bundled payments

If you’re an eligible returning customer, we may combine instalments into one transaction when they’re due on the same date and use the same payment method. You’ll receive one payment confirmation email with a breakdown of the instalments paid.

If the bundled payment is declined, we’ll try to process each instalment separately on the same day.

Note: We don’t include orders paid with Apple Pay in automatic payment bundling.

If a charge is different from what you expected, review your payment confirmation email. It shows the total amount, payment method, instalments paid, and related order numbers.

Make a payment manually

You can make a payment before its due date. Read How do I make payments?

You can also pay your total outstanding balance or choose a custom amount. Read Can I pay my entire owing balance or multiple payments in one transaction?

If an automatic payment is declined

We’ll send you an SMS and email if your automatic payment is declined. We may then try to collect the payment from another card on your account.

If the payment remains outstanding, you may be charged a late fee. If you’re concerned that you can’t make a payment, contact us for support.
