Merchant FAQs


If you have submitted your offer via the electronic submission form by 5:00pm AEST/ 7:00pm NZST Friday 9th August, your offer will be displayed on the Shop Directory at 8:00am AEST/ 10:00am NZST on the date selected.


Should you need to change your offer before this time, simply re-submit your offer again before 5:00pm AEST/ 7:00pm NZST Friday 9th August.


Unfortunately, we aren’t able to accommodate offer submissions once the submission form has closed at 5:00pm AEST/ 7:00pm NZST Friday 9th August.


If you would like to change your offer for Afterpay Day, you need to do so by 5:00pm AEST/ / 7:00pm NZST Friday 9th August. Simply enter your new offer via the submission form and we will upload your most recent submission.


We strongly recommend using branded copy like AFTERPAY or AFTERPAYDAY in your offer code to maximise the event momentum, however this isn’t mandatory in order to participate.


We recommend re-submitting your offer by 5:00pm AEST/ / 7:00pm NZST Friday 9th August via the submission form to include a mention of the event in your offer code.


In the submission form you may select which of the four dates (15th, 16th, 17th, 18th August) you would like your offer live until (please note all Afterpay Day creative must be removed by 11:59pm 18th August).


We recommend making the most of Afterpay’s Marketing. We’re building hype in the lead up to Afterpay Day with a variety of media including out of home displays, digital ads & social media plus so much more. Make the most of it by telling your customers you’re participating! The more customers that hear about Afterpay Day, the more the campaign will resonate with them.

You can only have your offer displayed on both the NZ and AU Shop Directory if you are registered for Afterpay Cross Border Trade or you have both an AU + NZ Afterpay account. Are you interested in becoming a Cross Border Trade merchant? Find out more here.


If you have multiple businesses live on the Australian and/or and New Zealand Directories you’ll need to submit an offer form for each business! Just ensure you enter the correct Merchant ID.


The sale commences Thursday 15th August 8:00am AEST / 10:00am NZST and ends Sunday 18th August 11:59pm AEST/NZST.


All offers are under embargo until 8:00am AEST / 10:00am NZST Thursday 15th August.

CREATE A SPECIFIC AFTERPAY CODE.

'AFTERPAY30' is a great example of a discount code customers can associate with the event.


Remember not to run other sales too close to Afterpay Day for maximum impact.
