Meet the charity platform letting donors pay their way

SupporterHub wants to revolutionise the charitable sector, and a new partnership with Afterpay does just that.

For more than a decade, Afterpay has been helping Australians purchase the things they want, and pay for them in instalments. Now, that same technology is available to charities, thanks to a unique partnership with SupporterHub.

SupporterHub is an all-in-one platform designed to help charities and non-profits manage supporters, fundraise and drive supporter engagement.

Thanks to the partnership between SupporterHub and Afterpay, donors can spread their contributions to charities across four interest-free instalments, enabling them to easily manage their donations alongside other spending commitments.

The very first non-profit organisation to enable Afterpay through SupporterHub is one with a personal connection to Afterpay and its founders: Cancer Chicks.

Cancer Chicks was founded by Michele Molnar, the mother of one of Afterpay’s co-founders, and it supports and empowers young women who are affected by cancer and severe chronic and terminal illnesses.

“This collaboration offers a powerful opportunity to strengthen our fundraising efforts.”

“This collaboration offers a powerful opportunity to strengthen our fundraising efforts, enabling supporters to make meaningful contributions in more accessible, flexible ways,” says Ms Molnar, who is a breast cancer survivor.

SupporterHub CEO Peter McCormick believes the partnership will help charities and their supporters.

“We are continually looking at new and innovative ways to add value to this sector and allow them to fundraise more money,” says McCormick. “Having Afterpay as the first BNPL payment option is certainly a way that we can do this — it’s an exciting partnership.”

SupporterHub launched in 2019, after two years of research, fine-tuning and hard work. McCormick, who has been in the tech and cyber security industry for more than 20 years, played an integral role in developing the CRM software that Amnesty International Australia had originally started to build.

“I saw there was a real need to help simplify and streamline all the different solutions charities were using.”

“The more I got to understand the sector, the more I saw there was a real need to help simplify and streamline all the different solutions charities were using,” says McCormick.

“It was all about better engaging donors and automating the many manual processes, giving them more time for them to focus on their cause. We help the small to medium sector today, as these charities tend to be the ones that benefit the most by having a fully integrated CRM and fundraising platform to help streamline their operations as they continue to grow.”

“SupporterHub allows you to grow and manage your supporter base more efficiently, seamlessly engage your donor and supporter base, automate many day-to-day tasks, and make fundraising easier, creating new opportunities to grow — while saving time and money."

SupporterHub currently supports more than 230 non-profit clients, including Cancer Chicks, Women’s Community Shelters, Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation, Dementia Research Community, Australian Melanoma Research Foundation, Brisbane Youth Service, Sport Inclusion Australia and What Ability Foundation.
