Customers love the simplicity of Pay in 4. But for larger purchases, they sometimes need more flexibility and more time to pay.
That’s where Pay Monthly comes in.
From today, your customers will be able to pay over time with Pay Monthly - a new option that lets Afterpay customers pay over 6, 12, or 24 months on online purchases from $500 to $20,000.
It's designed for life's bigger purchases and gives your customers more flexibility while keeping the same transparent Afterpay experience they already trust. No revolving interest, no account fees and a clear payoff date on every order.
Pay Monthly opens up more of your products to Afterpay customers, and gives customers the flexibility of longer payments. In markets where it's already live, merchants have seen higher average order values and increased new customers.1
You will continue to use Afterpay in the same way. Your merchant agreement, rate and settlement terms remain unchanged.
Customers cannot apply for Pay Monthly in your checkout. Customers may apply and be credit assessed in the Afterpay app. There is no application step added to your checkout flow for Pay Monthly.
Only larger orders are eligible for Pay Monthly. Pay Monthly gives approved customers a separate spend limit for higher value orders that Pay in 4 may not be able to support. At time of launch, Pay Monthly will only be shown as an option for eligible online orders of $500 or more by default.
If your website has an ‘About Afterpay’ or ‘How Afterpay works’ page, you will need to update it to ensure it reflects ‘Pay in 4’ specific language.
You must review and update your page with this copy: https://www.afterpay.com/en-AU/business/resources/marketing/about-afterpay.
No other changes are required to enable Pay Monthly. You do not need to contact your payment provider, update your integration, add language to your website specific to Pay Monthly, or make any technical changes at this time.
If you’d like to let your customers know they can now access Pay Monthly, we have created a variety of complimentary assets for you to use across website, social and email channels.
